If you prefer to watch a quick 4-minute video tutorial, just click on the image below. If you prefer written instructions, please keep scrolling!
Step 1: Open your Google calendar.
All you need is Google Calendar and Step 1 is to open your calendar.
Step 2: Subscribe to your MLB team's calendar.
In the sidebar, scroll past "My Calendars" to "Other Calendars", click the + (PLUS) button
Click on BROWSE CALENDARS OF INTEREST
Scroll down to the Sports category and click on BASEBALL
Click on Major League Baseball
Click the checkbox for your favorite MBA team (I'm adding my home team, the Kansas City Royals)
Tap the left-facing SETTINGS arrow at the top of the page to return to your calendar
Step 3: Change the calendar color to match your team's colors.
Your team's baseball calendar will now appear under "Other Calendars".
Google will randomly choose a color for that calendar, but you can easily change the calendar's display color to match your team's colors. Here's how.
Click on the team's calendar and click on the 3 dots on the right which show the options.
Choose one of your team's colors from the list that appears.
If you're a super fan and want one of the EXACT team colors, you can choose a custom color.
In a separate window, go to the website TEAMCOLORCODES.com
In the search bar that appears, type in your team name
Scroll to find your team's hex code.
Double-click on the hex code to highlight it, then do CONTROL-C for a PC or COMMAND-C for a Mac to copy the code
Back in Google Calendar, choose the calendar OPTIONS menu (the 3 dots next to your baseball team's name) then click + to add a custom color
Paste the code in the Hex box. Be sure it begins with the # or number sign. Tap SAVE.
STEP 4: Verify the schedule is added to your calendar.
Google will import your team's regular season games (not spring training) and by default the games will be displayed in YOUR time zone.
In your calendar, scroll to be sure your team's games appear.
One quick tip... because each baseball team plays 162 games during the regular season, you can easily toggle the MLB baseball calendar on and off by clicking the checkmark to the left of its name in the sidebar if you want an uncluttered view.
Conclusion
That's it! It's simple to add your favorite baseball team's calendar in just a few clicks, AND you can customize how it appears on your devices to be your team's colors.
Wishing your team best of luck this baseball season!
